Two years have passed sinced Belasco abducted Illyana Rasputin. She now serves as his apprentice, learning the art of black magic. When Illyana questions if she is a mutant like her brothers, Piotr and Mikhail, her mutant ability to generate teleportation discs first manifests itself. Still a novice with her gift, Illyana teleports to the tunnels beneath Limbo, and first encounters her future teammates, the New Mutants. Upon returning to Limbo, Illyana happens across a fight between Cat and Storm, and kills Cat to protect Storm.
